A report released earlier this year shows that a lot of public sector workers are unaware of the open data sets available to them, and the benefits of using these sets. Open data (information that is free and accessible to anyone) is not only beneficial to public sector bodies such as the NHS, but can also be useful to organisations in many other sectors, such as retail, e-commerce and marketing.

Allies cycles 56 miles a day!

We’ve always been conscious about our corporate social responsibility, which is core to our company’s ethical values. Not only do we all recycle as much as possible, many of our employees use public transport or cycle into work everyday, reducing our carbon footprint.

Some of our employees have been cycling in for many years, but others have recently decided to take up the challenge as well. With 5 of us cycling to work, the Allies team clocks up a total of 56 miles a day, or over 11,000 miles a year! This means on average, each person burns 5233 calories a week and saves around 399kg of CO2 – not bad! Calculate what you would achieve here.
